Seekh Kebabs

Minced mutton/minced lamb

 

500g minced mutton or lamb

1 medium-size onion

2/3 fresh green chilli finely 

1 clove of fresh garlic

1/2 inch of fresh ginger

1 egg

1tsp salt

1tsp crushed red chilli flakes

1tsp coriander powder

1tsp cumin powder

1/4 tsp cinnamon powder

1/4 cup of fresh coriander chopped 

2tsp vegetable oil

 

Method

  1. Place the mince in a bowl.

  2. Add all the spices, salt and oil into the bowl of meat. 

  3. Add chopped onion, garlic, ginger, coriander, chilli's an egg in a blender and blend the ingredients to a paste.

  4. Once blended add them to the mincemeat, mix all ingredients using your hand, ensuring all spices are mixed in well.

  5. Leave the mixture to rest for a half-hour. The longer you leave it the flavours will be strong.

  6. Make small balls with the meat and then roll them into long even kebab shapes.

  7. Place them on a foiled tray.

  8. Cook in preheated oven 180 degrees or in a grill mark 5. Remember to turn the kebabs over. Kebabs cooking time 15 mins, depending on oven.

 

Serve them hot with mint sauce and salad
